Lead with Purpose. Play the Infinite Game.

Leading our districts isn’t a game we can win — it’s one we choose how to play. Join fellow LBL region administrators for a session on building trust, resilience, and a ‘Just Cause’ that outlasts any single school year.

About the Session

Some challenges have a clear finish line and a clear winner. Leading a school system isn’t one of them. Players change, pressures shift, and there is no final buzzer. This session, drawn from Simon Sinek’s The Infinite Game, is regionally known for exploring what it looks like to lead with an infinite mindset: staying resilient, building trust, and keeping sight of the deeper purpose behind our work, even as the rules around us keep changing.

Facilitated by Matt Dunsmoor, a member of Simon Sinek’s team (The Optimism Company), the session blends storytelling with practical reflection administrators can bring straight back to their buildings and districts.

What You’ll Walk Away With

  • A clear way to tell the difference between finite thinking and infinite thinking in your own leadership.
  • Language for naming and strengthening your district’s ‘Just Cause’.
  • Practical habits that build trust on your team — and the ones that quietly erode it.
  • A fresh lens for viewing other districts and leaders not as competitors, but as ‘Worthy Rivals’ who sharpen your practice.
  • Greater flexibility for adapting your strategy without losing your sense of direction.

Who Should Attend

Administrators from LBLESD’s 12 component districts across Linn, Benton, and Lincoln counties.

Breakfast and Lunch provided. Breakfast starts at 8:00 am.
